Office Dogs: Meet Lilly and Tyler
WHAT IS YOUR NAME AND WHAT DO YOU DO AT SQUISHFACE?
My name is Becky, and I'm the Administrative Assistant here at Squishface.
WHAT ARE YOUR DOG’S NAMES? WHAT NAMES DO YOU ACTUALLY CALL THEM?
I have two dogs - Lilly and Tyler. Lilly goes by the nicknames Dittle and Dill. Tyler goes by the nicknames Ty or Ty-Ty.
WHAT BREED ARE YOUR DOGS?
Lilly is an American Cocker Spaniel, and Tyler is a Jack Terrier/Papillon mix.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR DOGS?
Lilly is the best cuddler, she’s very smart, and she has a goofy personality for a pup. Tyler is super loving, and of course his cute floppy ears are a plus.
WHAT SQUISHFACE PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?
I use Squishface Wrinkle Wipes & Tear Stain Paste on both of my pup’s eyes to get rid of their tear stains.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST THING TO TRAIN YOUR DOGS?
For Lilly, I trained her to “take nice” when giving her treats, however, she is not a fan and would much rather prefer to nibble on your finger. For both pups, it has been hard to train them not to bark when someone comes to the door.
WHAT WAS ONE THING YOU FAILED AT TRAINING / COULD NOT TRAIN YOUR DOGS?
I wish I had begun to socialize them at an early age. They are not big fans of strangers, and have a tendency to react to other dogs/humans they cross paths with outside.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO WITH YOUR DOGS?
I love taking them on hikes when the weather permits, going for longer walks, or taking them on weekend camping trips to enjoy some fresh air. I also love to cuddle them, of course.
WHAT IS YOUR DOG'S FAVORITE NON-DOG FOOD OR FAVORITE TREAT?
Lilly and Tyler both love fruit! Blueberries, Watermelon, Strawberries – if we’re eating them they both know they will be getting a snack as well!
DO YOUR DOGS SNORE, OR DOES SHE/HE DO ANYTHING UNUSUAL?
Both Lilly and Tyler snore A LOT. When Lilly's in a deep sleep she loves to lay on her back with her belly to the ceiling.
WHAT IS THE COOLEST TRICK YOUR DOGS KNOWS HOW TO DO?
It’s not necessarily a trick but whenever Lilly watches anyone eat she “tippy taps” her paws hoping she will get a bite.
Tyler knows how to “Beg,” and when he does this trick he’ll sit up on his butt like a human.
ARE YOUR DOGS GOOD WITH CHILDREN AND OTHER DOGS?
Both of my dogs haven't been around children much, so they tend to be skittish around them. They both get along with other dogs but it takes them a few meet-ups to get used to them.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS 1 THING MOST DOG OWNERS COULD DO BETTER WITH THEIR DOGS?
It's important to be more patient with your furry friends. Dogs don’t understand the meaning of a lot of things. I also think it’s important to start training your pup from an early age. It’s important to socialize them with other dogs very early on, and focus on teaching them tricks from the start.
