Tips for a Spooktacular October 🐶👻

Prepare your doggo for Halloween festivities!

Dog wearing Halloween Costume

Halloween is just around the corner, and it's a fantastic opportunity to involve your furry friend in the fun and festivities!

Here are some pawsome tips to prepare your dog for a Halloween to remember:

👻 1. Costume Comfort: If you're planning to dress up your pup, make sure their costume is comfortable and safe. Some dogs may have sensitive skin, and costume materials can sometimes cause irritation. That's where our Wrinkle Paste & Wrinkle Wipes comes in! This Bundle is perfect for dogs with sensitive skin, ensuring they stay comfortable while looking adorable.

🍂 2. Costume Trial Run: Before the big night, let your dog get used to their costume by having them wear it for short periods. Reward them with treats and praise to create a positive association with dressing up.

🎃 3. Pet-Friendly Treats: Halloween treats are a must, but be cautious about what your dog can and can't eat. Stock up on pet-friendly treats to keep them included in the snacking fun.

🕷️ 4. Create a Safe Space: During trick-or-treating hours, create a quiet, safe space for your dog away from the doorbell and commotion. Provide their favorite toys and a comfy bed to relax on.

🐾 5. Keep ID Updated: With all the door opening and closing, there's a risk of your dog slipping out. Ensure their ID tags and microchip information are up-to-date, just in case.

🍁 6. Nighttime Walks: If you decide to take your pup for a nighttime stroll to enjoy the Halloween decorations, make sure they're visible with a reflective collar or leash.

Remember, Halloween can be a fun experience for your dog too! Now, when it comes to ensuring their comfort during this festive season, our Wrinkle Paste & Tear Stain Paste are the perfect solution. It's gentle on sensitive skin and helps maintain those bright, clear eyes – even under a costume!

Pumpkin and Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin (make sure it's pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter (make sure it's xylitol-free, as xylitol is toxic to dogs)
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (or an alternative dog-friendly flour if your dog has allergies)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 egg

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the canned pumpkin and peanut butter. Make sure they are well mixed.

  3. Add the egg and mix it into the pumpkin and peanut butter mixture until it's fully incorporated.

  4. Gradually add the whole wheat flour (or alternative flour) to the wet ingredients. Stir until you have a firm dough. You may need to knead it with your hands to ensure it's well mixed.

  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. You can use Halloween-themed cookie cutters to create fun shapes like pumpkins, ghosts, or bats.

  6. Place the cut-out treats onto the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Optional: You can use a fork to create a crisscross pattern on top of each treat, or you can leave them plain.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the treats are golden brown and firm to the touch.

  9. Allow the treats to cool completely on a wire rack.

  10. Once cooled, let your dog enjoy these tasty Halloween treats in moderation. Store any extras in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
